We have two locations to serve you and your pet. Drs Rick Janka, Sarah Fries and the staff of All Creatures Vet Clinic have been working to keep your pets healthy and happy ever since the clinic was founded in 1996. Our mission is to provide you and your pets with service of the highest quality, keeping your companions healthy and giving you peace of mind. We believe that it is through communicating with you, the pet owner, that we can both work together to give your pet a happy and healthy home environment. Pets are an important part of all our lives, and we want nothing more than to ensure that your friends remain with you for a long, long time. Dr. Rick Janka grew up in southeastern Wisconsin. He attended college at the University of Minnesota for his undergraduate and and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. After vet school, Rick and his wife moved to Goodhue County, so they have been in the area for 30 years. Rick has served on the township planning commission, church council, active in 4-H, and currently a supporter and board member of the Humane Society of Goodhue County.
Rick and his wife have three adult children who keep their lives fulfilled. He enjoys the outdoors, wildlife and his farm animals. Rick owns and practices veterinary medicine full time at All Creatures Veterinary Clinic. Our goal at All Creatures Veterinary Clinic is to provide quality, affordable and compassionate care. Dr. Rick Janka and the staff want to provide the same quality of care that they would want for their own pets.
Sarah Fries grew up in ‘raisin country’ Kingsburg, California. After graduating from high school she lived in Sweden as a Rotary Exchange Student; she still enjoys pretending to speak Swedish. Sarah received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Aquaculture from the University of California at Davis. Following undergraduate Sarah spent many hours on the Sacramento Delta working for the California Department of Fish and Game. Sarah has been heard to say that Delta Smelt smell like cucumber. She returned to Davis to attend the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1999. Sarah has practiced veterinary medicine in California, Colorado, and Minnesota. She lives in Wabasha with her husband, three children, critters “Bacon and Eggs and Waffles”, and the “Bat Mobile”.
In her spare time Sarah attends a mind-boggling number of children’s sporting activities, tries to find vegetables in her weed garden, and attempts to ride her bike.
Elaine graduated from the University of Minnesota-Waseca with an associates of Applied Science Degree in Animal Health Technology in 1977 and has worked at All Creatures Veterinary Clinic ever since. She still lives on her family farm and enjoys gardening, quilting, baking and canning. She has two beloved dachshunds, Stuart and Oscar, three cats and many laying hens. She enjoys traveling with her sister and visiting her six grandchildren. As a 4-H alumni she still helps the Burnside Pluckies 4-H Club and teaches quilting to anyone who wants
Janet went to the University of Minnesota- Waseca and earned an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology in 1992. Janet has been working with Dr. Rick Janka since then. She had one dog, three cats and 11 crazy chickens. She is living in the area and is happily married with two children.
Courtney Schladweiler grew up in the small town of Maiden Rock Wisconsin. She has always loved animals and grew up with dogs, cats and even a rat!
After graduating high school from Plum City Courtney attended and graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Ecology. Shortly after graduating she worked as a veterinary technician in Eden Prairie.
Ellsworth her husband Luke and their two dogs: Kalia (a shetland sheepdog) and Kimber (a german shepherd) and welcomed their son in July! In their spare time they enjoy deer hunting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, jet skiing and visiting their family’s cabin in Stone Lake Wisconsin.
Sam graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in Rochester with an associates degree in Applied Science of Veterinary Technology. She has one dog named“Lucy” as well as one cat “Steven”. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family and friends, as well as watching movies.
Sue has been employed by the veterinary clinic in Lake City since her graduation as a Veterinary Technician in 1975. Besides helping with daily operations of the clinic she also has a focus in pet grooming. In her spare time Sue enjoys outdoor activities such as 4 wheeling with her husband and two kids, flower and vegetable gardening and hiking with her two dogs.
Laura lives on her hobby farm in Red Wing with her children. She grew up as a farm girl in Southern MN so animals have been her way of life. Laura enjoys the outdoor life (hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, gardening….basically everything outside!), having fun with her kids, and singing and playing the keys in her bands.
